What about ice cream, cookies, and cake?


To say I have a sweet tooth would be an understatement. I kid you not when I say that if I could have ONE superpower, it would be the ability to eat whatever I want without any negative health consequences. Hands down. This girl loves her sugar.

Unfortunately, this girl has also had a sad realization – it makes her feel like shit.

I mean, I kinda already knew that. But I didn’t realize just how bad it made me feel. Breakouts, difficulty falling asleep, super weird dreams once I am asleep, awful PMS, bloating, chronic fatigue….yep – all those things got better once I removed sugar from my diet. *sad face.

On January 10th I cut most forms of sugar out of my diet – maple syrup, honey, coconut sugar, plain old sugar, you name it. My three-banana-a-day consumption has dropped to 2-3 per week, only right before or right after a tough workout, and I’m eating substantially less fruit overall.

For the most part I feel pretty good – my cravings aren’t as bad as I expected, but after a few weeks of doing this, I’m ready for some treats 😉 So I did what any cooking-challenged blogger would do…and reached out to her other blogger friends who have much more finesse in the kitchen.

Thanks to their foodie prowess, I’m excited to share 21 sugar-free snacks with you! Some of these are sweetened with bananas, dates, or other types of fruit, some are savoury, and some look just plain delicious. All of these recipes are free of refined sugars, maple syrup, and honey.
